Dan Hunt, MD is the Director of the Emory Division of Hospital Medicine and Professor of Medicine at Emory University of School of Medicine. Before moving from Massachusetts General Hospital to Emory in 2015, Dan’s professional experience included private practice of general internal medicine, academic internal medicine at a safety-net hospital, extensive involvement in medical education, and substantial leadership experience at major academic medical centers. Dan’s scholarship has focused primarily on medical education, venous thromboembolism, perioperative management, and clinical problem solving.

Katharina V. Echt, PhD, is the Associate Director for Education and Evaluation of the VA Birmingham / Atlanta Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC), an Associate Professor in Geriatrics and Gerontology, Emory University School of Medicine and in Gerontology, Geriatrics and Palliative Care, University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. Her research at the GRECC and Atlanta VA Center for Visual and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation (CVNR) has focused on older Veterans’ ability to self-manage their health (e.g., health literacy, medication management and adherence, treatment decision making) with vision loss, hearing loss, and cognitive aging, and on the evaluation of behavioral and technology-based health interventions, including usability.
